BROKEN HOPE To Record New CD In January

December 31, 2001

Illinois death metallers BROKEN HOPE have amicably parted ways with Martyr Music Group and are currently seeking a new record label. "The album has been written since last spring and we are eager to finally get it recorded," guitarist Brian Griffin commented. According to the group's official web site, drummer Jeff Bumgardner has re-located to Chicago and has “definitely put a spark into the new songs on the drums this will prove to be the most aggressive record BH has done. Recording will be done in early January and negotiations are already underway with the new label that will represent BROKEN HOPE. James Barnhard of JRB Illustrations has already begun work on the new cover and as we expected, it is amazing!” In other news, Griffin has spent the last several months on the road as the sound engineer for SOIL (featuring former BROKEN HOPE bassist Shaun Glass on guitar),running sound for the band on their arena tour with OZZY OSBOURNE and ROB ZOMBIE. "It turned out to be a great experience,” Brian said. “I got to do sound on an arena tour and see how things work in the big leagues over the past 5 months. I have also had the chance to meet many of the greats such as Ozzy and his family, Zakk Wylde, Rob Zombie and his band, the MOTORHEAD gang as well as working around many of the bands you hear on the radio today."
